Quoting Reuters:
“….Epogen and Aranesp made by Amgen Inc and Procit made by Johnson & Johnson, have come under increased scrutiny after data from trials showed they could raise the risk of heart problems…”
Isn’t this a strange way to handle the issue? Shouldn’t the FDA say yay or nay on specifics for the drugs? If it is still necessary for a smaller pool of medicare users, shouldn’t they be covered?

Quoting the AAN:
“…The AAN opposes generic substitution of anticonvulsant drugs for the treatment
of epilepsy without the attending physician’s approval….”
SJCRG: What about the generics at large for other diseases. Certainly most generics are effective, but all? Don’t we needs an efficacy study for each, beyond FDA assurances of similarity.
Or are we going to accept casualties as the normal way to do business in the great war against cost?
