MedinewsDigest: A certain bacteria is shown to induce an inflammatory response where Th17 T-Cell appear. According to the study, “…Th17 cells are a type of T helper cell — cells that help activate and direct other immune system cells. Furthermore, Th17 cells induce the inflammatory cascade that leads to multiple sclerosis in animals…”.
Before people start to to increase their dose of yohurt, kefir and other foods rich in “good” bacteria to ward off, or help, MS, more should be known. What are the behaviors and properties of the bacteria poulation in your gut? Are “good” bacteria helping to rev up your sluggish immune system bad for autoimmune diseases?
Clearly a very interesting study bringing even more questions than answers…
